Looking for some holiday gift ideas for that fly fisherman/woman on your list? Better yet, are you a fly fisher-person who has been accused of being ‘difficult to buy for?’

Not to worry, today we present you with 10 great gift ideas sure to please the fly fishing enthusiast in your life.

2017 Fly Fishing Gift Ideas

  1. Fly Tying Garb Bag. Perfect for the messy fly tyer in your life. The Garb Bag fixes directly to the post of most fly tying vises and keeps the tying desk tidy by catching trimmed materials. Yours truly rarely ever ties without one. $9.95.
  2. Simms Cam Wading Belt. If they wear waders, odds are they’re going to love this wading belt. Believe it or not, its one of our favorite gear purchases of the year.. Read why by clicking right here. Available in black or camo for $19.95.
  3. Yeti Rambler 14 oz. Mug. One of the most “wish I had brought” items at our lodges? A travel mug. Yeti’s new Rambler Mug works well to keep that extra cup of coffee hot for the morning boat ride, or to keep that cocktail cool on the beach at the end of the day. It’s smaller size also makes it easy to pack along. $24.99.
  4. OPST Sink Tip Wallet. Great for any sink-tip chucking spey angler. Better than your average ‘zippered’ sink tip wallet, OPST’s ‘accordion’ style sink tip wallet keeps your tips tidy, organized, and mildew free. Hit the link to pick one up today for only $25.00.
  5. Plan-D Pack Articulated Fly Boxes. Easily the most innovative fly box to come around for a while. Keeps articulated flies at bay. Not sure what that means? If they like to spey fish, fly fish for salmon or steelhead, or chuck big streamers for trout, they’ll dig it. Available in two sizes from $24.99-$44.99.
  6. Equalizer Fly Kits. There’s no such thing as too many flies, and a fly assortment makes for a great gift. Our friends at The Fly Fishing Shop have put together a number of affordable fly selections for different fisheries from $8.99 to $48.95. They’re even offering a complete set of our own Greg Houska’s ‘Kriller’ salmon/steelhead pattern in a Plan-D Fly Box for a 25% savings! Hit the link to check out some of their fly kits.
  7. Patagonia Nano-Puff Vest. Light weight ‘puffy’ style vests are one of the most versatile layers on the water. Whether as an added layer of warmth in colder climates, or to take the chill off off the morning boat ride in the tropics, its one of our all-time favorite layers. $149.00.
  8. Fishpond Boulder Briefcase. From fishing guide to weekend warrior, the Boulder Briefcase makes a great gift for anyone who likes to fish, work, travel, or any combination thereof. Read about why we like it so much here. $169.95.
  9. Costa Del Mar Sunrise Silver Mirror Lenses. Polarized sunglasses with yellow-tinted lenses can be a game changer on the flats when the light is low, but they can look kind of funky at the bar afterwards. Costa’s new award winning lenses are the perfect solution for any hardcore flats angler. Available in a bunch of different frame models from $189.00-$249.00.
  10. The Fishing Trip of a Lifetime. How could we resist? Why not get them a world-class fishing trip to Alaska, British Columbia, or the Bahamas? Shopping for a family member? Ask us about fishing with family at our lodges. Click right here to get in touch for more details.

re: sunglass lenses…glass NOT plastic! Plastic/polycarbonate scratch and rarely are fully polarized due to bending in the frame. Polarized glass is the way to go.
