No Damage from Hurricane Irene

Hurricane Irene - No Damage
We're in great shape.

Thanks to everyone who has expressed concern about Andros South and Hurricane Irene.  Our team on South Andros is safe and sound, and we experienced no damage from the storm.

Irene passed well to the east of South Andros Island – maximum winds on the island were estimated at 50 mph.

At the same time we’re feeling fortunate, our thoughts are with our friends in the Southeast, Central and Northwest Bahamas where Irene passed much closer.  We wish you all the best.

Thank goodness … As a frequent visitor in the 80’s … Before resorts and tourists … When residents were still building large wooden fishing boats from native trees, and launching along the beaches … I have to say, I’m so very glad that one of my very favorite places on earth has been spared from this hurricane …

    Wih fond memories …
