King of The North: Alaska Chinook

Rapids Camp Lodge’s Nushagak River Out Camp.

Alaska Chinook Salmon are the Kings of the North. These mighty fish are beyond a thrill to catch and fight. The Nushagak River is known for its abundant run of Chinook Salmon.

The Nushagak River is only accessible by floatplane. At Rapids Camp Lodge, the program is relatively simple. You wake up, eat a hearty breakfast, gear up, load up into a Floatplane and 20 minutes later you’re landing on the Nushagak River. From there you unload your gear, rig up, hop into a boat, and then your off to one of the many fishing areas all whilst seeing some of the most pristine and remarkable scenery on the way.

For Spey anglers, the Nushagak River is a dream. The Nushagak River has many areas of relatively easy wading where you can “huk mega” to fish the channels where Kings lay claim to their domain.

If you’ve ever had the itch to conquer an Alaskan King Salmon, you have a chance. We currently have a prime week at Rapids Camp Lodge with availability. What could be better than being treated like a King to conquer a King in Alaska?

Winter is leaving and Alaska will soon be flowing with Alaskan Kings. For more information and details about fishing for King Salmon at Rapids Camp Lodge in Bristol Bay on the Nushagak River contact us at info@deneki.com. This prime will not be available long.
