Calling all South Florida Flats Anglers! The good folks at the Bonefish and Tarpon Trust are looking for more bonefish fin samples, and they need your help. But here’s the catch, they’re offering up some really cool prizes in the process!
Starting March 1st and running through March 23rd, BTT is teeming up with Yeti Coolers to collect as many bonefish fin samples as possible in South Florida waters for genetic analysis. The angler who is able to submit the most fin clip samples before the March 23rd deadline will win a new Yeti Hopper cooler with artwork by marine artist Jorge Martinez. Second place will win a Yeti Roadie cooler, and third place will receive a pair of Costa Sunglasses. Additionally, all three winners will receive a ticket to the event and awards ceremony at BTT’s 3rd Annual George Hommell Jr. Florida Keys Habitat Fundraiser on March 31, 2016 in Islamorada, Florida.
Remember, all fin clips must be returned to Brooke Black at a drop-off location or by mail no later than March 23, 2016. Drop-off locations and mailing address are listed below:

While we might operate a bonefish lodge in the Bahamas, bonefish fin samples collected from fisheries around the world will only help to better understand bonefish behavior, so that they can be better protected for generations to come. That’s a really good thing, and if you’re in the South Florida area we encourage you to get involved! For more information on Bonefish Fin Clip Challenge, or to learn more about how to take a fin clip sample, visit the release on BTT’s website, here.
Go fishing, help out, and win prizes? That’s a win, win, win, in our book.
