Rolling Up Your Raincoat

Rolling Up Your Raincoat
Tidy!

Why has no one shown us this before?

That’s what we thought when our friend Alex Lauver at Eddie Bauer showed us this simple way to roll your raincoat into a nice clean package for storage or transportation.

Here’s the step-by-step, in photo format.

Rolling Up Your Raincoat
1. Start with it zipped up on a flat surface.

2. Fold the sleeves diagonally so they’re parallel with the sides.

3. Fold the sides in so the body is about the same width as the hood.

4. Roll from bottom to top.

5. Keep rolling and tuck the body into the hood.

Voila! A tidy package to strap to your pack or stick in your boat bag.

You’re welcome.

I spy an Eddie Bauer hip pack. When might us commoners get a look at their new gear?

Indeed you do. The first batch of gear is due in April. Don’t worry – you’ll hear all about it!

I like to use velcro straps. They hold the rod in my chest caddy as well. Pete.

    Hair Ties vs Velcro:
I buy a roll of 3/4″ Velcro and cut it to the size I need. I generally attach the Velcro strip somewhere on an empty Velcro patch for easy reuse. I find to be more durable with less doubling as in a band.
    Give it a try.
