The Native Fish Society is one of our favorite organizations working hard to preserve the fisheries we love. If you’re not familiar with the NFS, here’s their mission statement.
The Native Fish Society is a non-profit organization founded in 1995 whose purpose is to protect and restore native, wild fish and their habitats. Our goal is the conservation, preservation and restoration of wild fish in the Pacific Northwest. We work to establish effective fish management policies based on the latest scientific research, and we encourage the public to get involved in this process.
Homewaters – NFS Annual Auction and Banquet
This Saturday April 10th is the NFS’s annual auction and banquet, which they call Homewaters. If you’re anywhere near Portland, OR this weekend and you care about wild fish in the Northwest, you should go to the auction and banquet for a great time and an opportunity to help out a great cause.
BC West Trip Donation
We’ve donated a trip to BC West for this event, and we’re really excited about the opportunity to help raise money for the NFS. Who knows – if you make it on Saturday you might just walk out with a trip to the Dean River to chase steelhead and chinooks! A mother lode of other great items has been donated as well – have a look at the list. [PDF link]
