Fish Your Fly

Don't just wing it out there.
Don’t just wing it out there.

Today we present a short video featuring Tom Larimer, Oregon steelhead guide and spey guru extraordinaire.

Tom thinks that one of the biggest mistakes people when fishing for steelhead is fishing in ‘remote control’ mode.

NOTE: If you’re viewing this in a newsletter or a reader, click here to see the video on YouTube.

Tom says that

  • It’s not true that steelhead are either going to eat or not eat – there are important subtleties related to fly presentation.
  • Steering the line with your rod tip is key – if your line is doing the right thing, your fly is doing the right thing.

Sorry about the funky little sound problem at the end of the clip.  We fired our team of 13 audio engineers and assistants after this shoot, so it won’t happen again.
