Alaska West Travel

Flight Schedule

For 2017, the flights will be operated by Ravn Alaska. Ravn will fly a de Havilland DHC-8-100 between Anchorage and Bethel, and a fleet of Cessna C-208 Caravans between Bethel and Quinhagak. Total travel time between Anchorage and Quinhagak will be approximately 2 to 3 hours depending on the load and weather of course.

Flights typically leave Anchorage headed for Bethel at 8:00 AM on Sundays. The return flight to Anchorage is scheduled to arrive in Anchorage around 3:00 PM on Sundays, weather permitting. Guests leaving Alaska should schedule their connecting flights to leave Anchorage for home any time after 5:00 PM to allow for any delays.

Booking the Flights to the Lodge

You are only responsible arranging flights to Anchorage. After this point we will make all the reservations for you. You do not need to contact Ravn at all prior to your trip.

Quinhagak to Alaska West

When you arrive in Quinhagak, you will be met on the airstrip by Alaska West staff. You will be transported by bus to the boats for the 30-minute ride upriver to our facility. You will be exposed to any weather for this trip so having warm protective clothing on is recommended.

Guests will typically arrive at Alaska West around noon on Sunday. This is a non-guided fishing day, but provides a great opportunity to unpack, relax, get your gear rigged and enjoy an extended happy hour. Please remember that travel in bush Alaska requires flexibility and that a variety of factors, including weather, may impact your travel and therefore your arrival time.

If you have special scheduling needs and require flights at different times or on different days, please call us at 800-344-3628 for additional travel options.
