Your Trip

Pictures can say it all, so we’ve provided a brief photo tour of a typical ‘Day in the Life’ at Alaska West.

While everyone’s experience is unique, this tour should provide some insight into our operation, the fishing and the camaraderie you’ll experience here at Alaska West.

Our typical day starts at 7:00 AM with a buffet-style breakfast. Fixings are put out for you build yourself a custom-made lunch. You may also request a shore lunch-a lunch of fresh-caught fish and trimmings cooked for you, by your guide, right on the shore of the river!

Your guide and boat will be ready to leave the beach at 8:00 AM and will be at your service until 6:00 PM, when all boats are due back to camp. This is a long day of fishing! Your day on the river will be spent wading, fishing ‘drift boat style’ from your boat, walking up narrow braids, and/or fishing from an anchored boat, all depending on your preferences, the species you’re pursuing and the river conditions.

Appetizers are put out at 6:30 and dinner is served at 7:30. Evenings are leisurely, and typically involve telling stories of your day on the river, relaxing in our lounge tent our outdoor gazebo, and fishing or working on casting on the gravel bar right in front of our facility.
