Cooking Salmon is a very delicate and precise operation. The slightest variation in temperature, timing, and temperance makes a huge difference in the way your Salmon dish turns out. Everything, from the type of oven you have to the elevation of where you live, will impact your cooking methods and timing. With that said, don’t be afraid to try. When done right, Salmon is a fantastically delicious meal. Here are some of our favorite recipes for you to try.
- Grilled Smoked Salmon
- Deep Fried Salmon
- Shore Lunch Salmon (or anywhere really)
- Chinese Style Salmon
- Salmon Sashimi
Smoked salmon is a favorite among anyone who has ever tried it. Smoked Salmon pairs well with a variety of other foods. It is a great addition to a charcuterie board, or even just by itself with crackers, cheese, or even bagel bites. A Smoked Salmon dip served with toasted bagels slices is very hard to pass up. Cold Smoke or Lox (Lachs) is another method that is very popular and super delicious. We currently don’t have a particular methodology for cold smoke, but if you have any fish/ meat processors near you, I’m sure they are full of ideas. They also make great gifts by themselves or as a gift basket with cheese, crackers, and wine.
Canning is another good way to preserve and eat salmon, and again, we don’t have a specific method to share. But there are a plethora of great recipes and how-tos online. Just make sure to find one that has jalapenos in it. You won’t be disappointed.
Do you have a favorite method of prepping and cooking salmon? We’d like to hear about it. Send us a recipe; We’d love to try it!
