August is an exceptional month in Western Alaska. August marks the beginning of a change in seasons with slightly cooler temperatures. More exciting is, August also marks the beginning of the Silver Salmon season. Both Silver Salmon and Rainbow Trout are voracious and aggressive and August is a prime month for both Silver Salmon and Rainbows both at Alaska West Lodge and Rapids Camp Lodge.

The sheer size of Silver Salmon and Rainbow Trout at both locations is impressive alone, but the abundance of fish and the ways to catch is also impressive.
