It’s no secret we like Spey Fishing at Alaska West Lodge. If you’ve never used a Spey rod or two-handed rod, you should. If you’ve never tried Spey fishing and if you’ve never had a chance, well, then The Guides at Alaska West Lodge are more than willing to help you learn…and oh, by the way, catch fish.

Recently a couple of Alaska West Lodge Guests, Cody A. and Beau M., came to Alaska West full intent on catching fish with single-hand rods. With all the speak about two-handed rods and Spey fishing at camp, their interests were peaked, and they wanted to give it a shot. With proper instruction, persistence, and a little patience, both guests picked up Spey casting like ducks to water.

Always wanted to learn how to Spey cast but were afraid to ask? Come to Alaska West Lodge. We have everything you’ll need, and we’ll guide you all the way. We’ll get you hooked on Spey.
