Taking Alaskan Salmon

Fishing is great, but in addition to the exhilaration of the initial tug, fight, and landing fish, one of the best things about fishing with Deneki Lodges in Alaska, is you get to take fish home.

Each fish will be cut to your specification, rinsed, professionally vacuum packed, frozen, and placed in a waxed box for the trip home. We follow all Alaska Department of Fish and Game Regulations for harvesting salmon. At both lodges, daily catch and bag limits are adhered to at all times.

If you want to try and take home a full box of fish, start harvesting fish on your first guided day. Then keep fishing to fill your daily bag limit until you have a full box. Our guides will know daily how many pounds of fish you have and can “guide” you to not over-harvest as you get closer to filling your box. Filling the box early will also give ample time to freeze your catch before your departure. Now you’re on easy street and every fish after that is just icing on the cake.

Fresh Alaskan Salmon, regardless of the variety is a treasured resource to be thoroughly enjoyed. Tell your tales of your fishing adventures with your friends and family while enjoying your Alaskan salmon for dinner. In fact, share your favorite way to prepare salmon. We’d love to hear about.
