Last summer at Alaska West, a decal toted by one of our guests caught our eye – a rainbow trout, in the shape of a pig. Brilliant.
The level of excitement that brought to your humble editor shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone who understands his affinity (some would say obsession) with big, gluttonous, Alaskan rainbows.
It didn’t us long to track down the artist responsible for the design. His name is Nate Karnes, and we were pleasantly surprised to learn that he not only makes awesome decals artistically implying pig-sized rainbows.. He’s also created some really awesome designs around a whole bunch of other popular species targeted on the fly too.
Pigs aren’t his only forte mind you. Nate’s created designs based off of a whole bunch of other common slang associated with the monster fish we’re all after as well. Unicorns, toads, donkeys, footballs, tanks? He’s got ’em all.
