For most heavily targeted species, certain benchmarks exist in the minds of most anglers as the pinnacle of their quarry – think 30 inch trout, 20 pound steelhead, 10 pound bass, 100 pound tarpon, and so on..
The double digit bonefish, that which weighs in at a whopping ten pounds or greater, is a benchmark desired by many a flats angler. We’re lucky to have our fair share of shots at them on South Andros, but they certainly don’t come to hand easily – which is why we’re always super excited when our guests are lucky enough to hold such a memorable fish.
Last week, Andros South guest, Chuck Keller, had a run in with a truly special bonefish while fishing with guide, Josie Sands. While not his first introduction into the double-digit club, Chuck managed to bring to hand the very fish pictured above, weighing in at an estimated twelve pounds. Wow.
Great job, Chuck. What a fish!
