Not Bad for the Bush

Dinner at Alaska West.
Not bad for anywhere! Photo: Maybank Hagood.

We might operate a remote tent-lodge in Bush, Alaska, but as far as we’re concerned, we still eat pretty darn good.

Deneki guest, Maybank Hagood, gives us a taste with a photo of the menu board for a mid-week meal at Alaska West.

Not bad, not bad at all.

Was Dan Quayle in residence that week?

Hail Peter! He rocked an amazing week of food while I was up there. Probably the only time I’ve had Brussel sprouts and cauliflower that made me want to go back for seconds. I got a chuckle out of his Quayle-like spelling also, but in the end, if he kept cooking like he did, he could call everything “pig slop” and “dog chow” and I would be a believer. The freaking shanks and kraut were awesome. I hope he comes back and repeats that this coming year.

    Danke sehr Peter!
