Sea lice, those little parasites found on fresh salmon and steelhead in our rivers in Alaska and British Columbia are pretty cool. A quick examination reveals just how long ago the fish has entered freshwater, almost down to the hour! We’re pretty lucky to be located only a few miles from the salt and therefore get to see our share of sea lice laden salmonids.
However, sea lice aren’t only found on salmon and steelhead in the northwest.. Check out this lone louse that hitched a ride on a barracuda caught at Andros South!
