Congratulations to Sam Bennett, the author of the winning entry in our fishing limerick contest!
Sam penned the dandy below which was written very much in the spirit of the limerick, and for his efforts there’s a pair of Abel nippers headed his way.
There once was a man from St. Charles,
Whose line was all twisted and gnarled-
He let it drift down the river,
But his back knot’s a giver-
Now he’s lineless and cursing the stars.
This contest had some hilarious entries – swing on by the original post right here for a good chuckle. Thanks as always to everyone who participated. More contests to come!

Hey Erick, thanks a lot for your entry! Limericks have a specific rhyming scheme…

Tom Ehrhard says
There once was a knothead named Erick
Whose manners were slightly barbaric
Couldn’t rhyme if you paid him
From my team I would trade him
Lost the contest and now he’s hysteric

Congrats, Hoffman. You just made Enemy of the Week™.
Stay tuned.

BTW – thanks for the nippers. They came in the mail on Friday and I took ’em out for a test drive this weekend. Yup, they cut stuff. Even 15/4 PowerPro. Buttah!
