If you’re spending a day fishing, you’re lucky!

Here are…

10 Things to Appreciate During Your Day on the Water

  1. The sound of the water
  2. The beauty of the smallest fish you catch, and the knowledge that he’s going to get big because you treated him so well
  3. The quality time with family or friends, if you’re fishing with family or friends
  4. The quality time alone, if you’re fishing alone
  5. The smell of the river or lake or flat
  6. The fact that your cell phone is off (right?)
  7. The fact that your high-tech gear works so well
  8. The fact that you’re not working
  9. The opportunity to learn
  10. The sound of your singing reel

What do you appreciate during your day on the water?  Leave us a comment and let us know!

Watching all the wildlife and nature around me. When I’m taking a break and just watching the fish rise.

Living in the moment and being free to not think about anything else in my life except my immediate surroundings and my next cast.

The beauty of landscape and wildlife helps me to be near God. That it is fly fishing for me

The wilderness…. I love fishing, but even if I dont catch anything, i’m still amazed by the mountains, and the woods.

I love #2, some people just don’t appreciate small catch which I think is stupid. Respect your catch whether it is big or small. It’s not the size that matters, it’s the fact that being able in the water…
