You may have heard that the Dean River fished really well in 2010 and 2011. Honestly, it was pretty awesome. Anadromous returns in rivers like the Dean tend to be cyclical, so hopes are high that the trend continues into 2012.
We fish primarily for steelhead during 8 weeks of our season at BC West each year (after the first 3 weeks of our season when we chase chinooks). For our 2012 season, 7 of those 8 weeks are already sold out.
One Week Left
The good news is that we still have space available in our first steelhead week, from July 7 – 14. We catch mainly steelhead during this week, but one added bonus is the tail end of that epic chinook run…
If you’re interesting in getting in on the fun that the Dean has pumped out the last couple of years…now would be a real good time to drop us a line. It’s a special river with really special fish, and we’d love the opportunity to show you around.

Gentlemen,
I would like to sign up for the last open week.
Who will be the guest instructor?
Do you still have openings in B. Niska’s Chinook week?

Hi Joe, it’s great hearing from you. We’d love to have you back. I just sent you an email with details. There’s no guest instructor from July 7 – 14…just Scott and Justin! We do have spots in Brian’s Chinook week from June 16 – 23 as well.

Could you give me an idea of your rates for a week on the Dean? A steehead/spring combo would be preferred.
Thanks.

Hi Gordon, happy to help with our availability on the Dean. We have spots in the week of June 30th – July 7th, focused on fishing for chinooks below the Dean River Canyon. Early steelhead sometimes get hooked, but not nearly in the numbers that we hook chinooks. This week cost $4700 per person + HST. We also have the week of July 7th – 14th, the majority of hooked fish are steelhead, with some opportunities for chinooks. We alternate days fishing above and below the canyon during this week. It costs $5900 + HST. Thanks again Gordon, hope to hear from you – thanks!
