Jeff Hickman was welcomed back to the Lower Dean with a beauty 25lb Chromer on his 3rd cast!
The rest of the crew of Steve Grover, Jim Greenleaf, Rob Sims, Frank Salmick, Matt Tofanelli, Thatcher Beaty, and Klint Borozan all found varying degrees of success early in the week. Jim Greenleaf seemed to only catch 36″ plus steelhead, and numerous ones at that.
Sometimes the action was hot and heavy, so much so that the boat was constantly running to assist a hooked up anger. Dropping water at the beginning of the week allowed more fish through the canyon to the upper river, but a mid week (big) rain rose waters again…this brought in more fish into the lower river and several rods were worked over badly by angry Chinooks and some lunker steelhead.
