This may have been said in the past but it will have to be said again.

Karl Kreissig and the anglers that join him on the Dean may be the best group one could hope for to wrap up a season. Despite being very skilled fisherman and greatly enjoying their sport, it is their love of all that the Dean has to offer that makes their visit so special.
After a full season even the staff can use a reminder of what a special place they call home each summer. From the fishing, to prawning to mushroom picking and simple walks through the woods all is experienced by this group.
We never knew one day to the next if they would return to camp with tales of large chrome steelhead or a sack full of mushrooms. Each morning through the week Karl would head out in a spare boat to pull and re-bait the camp’s prawn traps and bring home beautiful prawns and shrimp to be prepared with wild mushrooms for their evening meal. It goes without saying that the staff was more than happy to share in the bounty.
Finally, on the last few days of the trip all focused a bit harder on the fishing and all were rewarded with chrome bright steelhead as well as some of the fantastic large coho that may be the best kept secret of the Dean. All we can hope is that they and all the wonderful guests we welcomed in 2009 choose to share some time with us next year. Pretty likely!
