This is a pretty exciting time of year for us at Deneki Outdoors. We’re in the final week of our season at Andros South, and our setup crews are on their way to Alaska West and BC West. This is when we get pretty darned excited about summer fishing!
Alaska West opens on June 12th. 21 days from now, Dec Hogan, Tom Larimer, Jeff Hickman, Jason Koertge and a whole cast of characters with King Fever will be standing in the Kanektok, swinging flies for the first chrome kings of the season.
BC West opens on June 27th. On the Dean we call it Chinook Fever, but the symptoms are pretty similar – a constant need to tie giant intruder-style flies, non-stop tinkering with sinktips and big reels, inability to focus, and general dissatisfaction with hooking small and/or non-explosive fish.
