Frequently Asked Questions

How do I get to Andros South Lodge?

By making an easy connection through Fort Lauderdale, FL or Nassau in The Bahamas … there are several flights each day to our island.

For more details on flight options, check out our Travel page here.

What do you fish for?

Mostly bonefish.  Lots of barracudas too.  We also sometimes get shots and tarpon and permit as well.

Here’s the page with an overview of our fishery.

Do I have to be an expert caster?

No!  The fishery on South Andros is really productive (i.e. tons of fish), so you’ll have plenty of opportunities to catch fish even if you’ve never fished on the flats before.  Of course more skilled anglers will convert on more of their opportunities, but lots of novice anglers catch a lot of fish at Andros South and have a great time doing it.

How much does it cost?

Check out our rates page here.

Is it true that I get my own room?

Yes, our standard package at Andros South includes single-occupancy lodging.  Couples and others who’d prefer to share a room are welcome to – some rooms have double beds and other rooms have two twin beds.

Is it true that drinks are included?

Yes, included in the price of your trip to Andros South are all your food and drinks for the week, including soft drinks, juice, beer, wine and liquor.  If you want a really specific liquor (like a single malt scotch) you should bring it along.

Which rods should I bring?

Here’s a blog post on ‘your quiver’ for South Andros.

What if I prefer chasing bonefish on foot?

No problem.  Our fishery is enormous, and there are many, many flats with hard bottoms that are perfect for wading.  There may be certain tidal conditions in which you’re better off fishing from the boat, but if you’re like many of our guests who prefer wading, you can spend most of your time wading.
