12 Gifts for the Fly Angler: Part One

If you’re reading this, you’re probably already into fly fishing, and no matter how much you have, you probably “need” more. Or you’re new to fly fishing, and you want more, and it’s a good time to convince someone else that you “need” other things.

We at Deneki Outdoors believe the best gifts are the ones we don’t need but want. Today, you’re in luck. We have a list of both. All things that the fly angler needs and wants. What could be better?

From now until Christmas 2021, we’ll be posting about our “favorite” gifts that we would want as fly anglers. If we were in your family, these are the things we’d want :). Please forward accordingly.

Simms Classic Guide Jacket.

The Simms Classic Guide Jacket is just that…a classic. With modernized features but the same shortcut, this jacket is everything you need in a wading or fishing jacket; water-resistant, comfortable, and has big front pockets. The hood adjusts to a variety of heads with or without hats. A “can’t go wrong” gift for your favorite fly angler. Find it here simmsfishing.com

Howler Brothers Hat

Who doesn’t like hats? They protect your noggin and, in some cases, make you look cooler than you really are. The Howler Brothers Creative Trout hat is a snapback that fits well and is cool-looking. You’ll be the grooviest person in the room when you’re rocking this hat, making it an excellent gift for anyone. Check it out at howlerbros.com.

Patagonia Better Sweater

The Patagonia Better Sweater Hoody is a great blend of comfort, warmth, and stylish good looks. For the angler, it is a versatile piece that you can wear fishing and go to dinner a the cool local fast-casual place to eat and order a nice hooch. Check them out here at www.patagonia.com.

G Loomis IMX Pro Trout Spey Fly Rod

Yeah, like they need another rod, but really, they do. The G Loomis IMX Pro Trout Spey is a great rod. It casts like a dream and manages trout very, very well. We like the 5 weight. But the cool part is that this rod ranges from 4 to 7 weights, and they’re all (currently) priced the same. You can check them out here at www.gloomis.com.

We hope these gifts will fit the bill, whether for you or the other anglers in your life. If not, don’t fret, we still have a couple more weeks before Christmas, and we have more gift ideas to share, so stay tuned!
