Rapids Camp Lodge Availability

We at Deneki Outdoors are very fortunate and proud that our team at Rapids Camp Lodge was able to deliver sixteen weeks of fishing trips during the 2020 season without incident.  With a little bit of luck, a lot of diligent hand washing, cleaning, and an amazing cast of angling guests, we had a fantastic time fishing the fly-out locations in Bristol Bay, including Katmai and Becharof watersheds and many others.  With our 2021 Alaska season steadily approaching, we’re wanting to give you a heads up that if you’re thinking about an Alaskan ‘fishing trip of a lifetime’, there is still limited space available.

At Rapid Camp Lodge we start the season chasing King salmon during the month of June, whether with conventional tackle, or swinging flies with single hand and double-handed rods.  Targeting the largest species of salmon is certainly a memorable experience but top that with early-season Rainbow trout fishing and the early signs of the smolt bust, you have all the ingredients for a world-class angling experience.

As we move into the month of July, the legendary, prolific, and life-blood of the regions we frequent, start to enter the rivers and streams.  Sockeye salmon.  There are so many different trips we take that put you, your guide, and your lunch in some of the most beautiful areas Alaska has to offer.  Gin clear streams surrounded by snow-covered mountain peaks will fill your horizon as you wade and fish dries for rainbow trout and dolly varden.  And if taking Wild Alaskan Salmon home for your family and friends is a goal, that’s simply a part of the program.  July truly offers some of the best weather of the season and the amount of daylight you experience each day is impressive. They don’t call it “The Land of the Midnight Sun” for nothing.

The month of August is an incredibly popular time to come fishing in Alaska. The trout and char populations are reaching their peaks as the Silver salmon runs move in.  Lots of Silver, lots of trout, and lots of char in almost every watershed we visit within 150 miles of the lodge.  Silver salmon are strong and acrobatic making them a great sport fish on a stripped or swung fly.  We still have space during prime weeks in August but as the days pass by into the New Year, that availability won’t be around for too much longer.

Last but not least, September will come and that’s the time when we chase trophy rainbow trout.  This sport is not for the faint of heart, as these fish grow to double digits.  Much of our spots in September have already been filled for the upcoming season, nevertheless, there are still a few spots available to fill.  If bringing to hand the largest rainbow trout of your life is an angling goal, then booking in the month of September is your ticket.

No matter the month Rapids Camp Lodge when you come to Rapids Camp Lodge it will be a remarkable experience. If any of this peaks your interest, feel free to contact us and we’ll gladly see what’s available. We would be honored to take you fishing in Alaska!

Our best,

The Denkei Team
