Captains for Clean Water: A Mission That Holds Water

In 2020 Bristol Bay, Alaska overcome a huge threat in Pebble mine. We thank all those who supported the cause. There is still a lot of work to do to establish permanent protection of Bristol Bay, Alaska. With that, we have another current major threat to our aquatic ecosystem in the opposite corner of the United States, the beautiful and precious estuaries and Everglades of Florida. As fly anglers, regardless of where we are, where we fish, waters anywhere on this Earth is a precious resource and should be managed mindfully. This is the heart of the matter for Captains for Clean Water. Captains for Clean Water’s mission is “to restore and protect aquatic ecosystems for the use and enjoyment for all,” a mantra we resonate.

A big part of their mission is awareness and support research to develop sound solutions to our degrading water resources. Therefore, as purveyors of aquatic protection and our natural environment, we at Deneki Outdoors will do our part and help spread the word.

To better understand what their cause is all about, you have not only to see what’s going on now but also have to understand the history. For an overview check out their cool, “in a nutshell” description of their fight here.

All fly anglers have an affinity for our waters and our natural environment. We at Deneki Outdoors appreciate and are grateful for all the work Captains for Clean Water do for our planet. Therefore, we ask you also support them by signing up for their newsletter, donate, and spread awareness of the cause. We all need to join this fight.

For more information check out their website captainsforcleanwater.org. We all thank you for your support in protecting our planet.
