Gear You Need // Thunderhead Submersible Pouch

With the nature of our sport, we will always be surrounded by water.  Whether you are wading in a small creek or floating on a boat, when fishing you will be near water and more than likely, you will have some stuff on you that you want to keep out of the water.  Dry Bags and submersible packs have become all the more practical in our sport as anglers need to bring camera phones or car keys with them.  Even if you have stuff that can get wet, having a small bag to keep important things organized and dry is always nice.

That is why our creative friends over at Fishpond have developed a fully submersible pouch.  I have been a fan of Fishpond’s Eagle Nest Pouches for years to keep my gear organized, I even have been using the large one as a toiletry bag.  But they now offer a fully submersible one!?  That is some next level stuff.  This pouch is not water resistant, it is water proof!  The bag is constructed out of a TPU coated Cyclepond fabric, a fully welded construction with a waterproof TIZip zipper.  At 11”x7”x2.75” the bag is big enough to hold your valuables but not too big that it gets in the way.  The Hypalon panels make it easy to attach to a wading belt, pack, or how I use mine, the frame of a raft. I get in my boat, my phone and truck keys go in the pouch and I know they will be there and be dry when I take them out at the end of the day.

The bag retails for $99, well worth the cost of a replacement iphone. One thing to note, the pouch does not come with straps.  You can purchase them separately or just use zip ties.
