The month of May welcomes us with a similar uncertainty that we have been feeling since March. We hope that you and your family are all staying safe and healthy as the world continues to fight this terrible pandemic. With most of the country still in some sort of stay at home order, we have received feedback from our readers saying how much they have enjoyed the various fishing and outdoor films we have been sharing. We do hope the spread of this virus slows and that we can return to our normal lives as soon as it is safely possible. In the meantime, here is another film to help you pass the time.
DamNation was filmed in 2011 by Ben Knight and Travis Rummel, the same filmmakers who produced “Red Gold” which we shared last week. These talented filmmakers represent Felt Soul Media and directed this movie for Patagonia. Last week, Patagonia released the full length video which you can watch below. If you’re viewing this in a newsletter or a reader, click here to be redirected to the video on our website.
The hour and a half film explores the issues surrounding dams in the country. From the hydroelectric power they can create to the effect they have on the health of the rivers they harness. The film does an excellent job of addressing both sides of the issue at hand while also sharing various testimonies. As with all films produced by Patagonia and Felt Sole Media, there is incredible cinematography to go along with an important message. Get yourself some popcorn, a comfortable seat and enjoy the full length video!
