Our guest Kurt Schwarz was following around a cruising permit last week. Not a target fish most of our guests associate with the flats of South Andros but we have been seeing more and more permit every year. Kurt had a great shot at the fish but before the permit could eat his fly, a large Horse Eye Jack swooped in and ate it first. Not quite the hook up he was hoping for but still a great catch down here. We have numerous species of Jacks in our waters but one of this size is rare. We always tell our guests to bring a few crab flies just incase the infamous Black Tailed Devils of the flats make an appearance.
