Gear You Need // Tacky Fly Dock

Photo: John Le Coq

Another great stocking stuffer for the angler in your life this holiday season, the Tacky Fly Dock from Fishpond.  When Fishpond acquired Tacky earlier this year we knew they would be coming out with some innovative products as both companies have reputations of being among the most creative in the industry.   The Fly Dock is just that, a new style of fly patch that can be easily attached almost anywhere, from your cooler to your truck visor.

When talking about fly patches, you want something that offers quick access, but it also has to securely hold your flies in place.  That is exactly what the Fly Dock achieves.  It is just over 3 inches long and has 8 patented silicone slits that offer unbeatable hook holding.  It comes with a 3M Adhesive Strip and also an additional Velcro strip with an adhesive back allowing you to attach the Fly Dock to pretty much any surface, hard or soft.  Simple yet effective, which is why it was awarded with the Best Of Show designation for Fly Box/Storage System at the 2019 IFTD show.

With a retail price of only $7.95, you won’t feel guilty about buying a few to have them scattered throughout your truck, boat and gear bags. They are convenient to use, do their intended job, and will never get in the way thanks to their small profile.  We at Deneki Outdoors are definitely fans of this new product, stop by your local fly shop and give one a try!
