This may sound crazy, but once I started wearing wool socks under my flats boots, I have never returned to a neoprene wading sock. Next time you are luckily walking a flat that requires a sturdy wading boot, try putting on two pairs of wool socks. It may sound hot but I promise you that once they are wet, it is cooler and more breathable than neoprene. I use two pairs so that I can fold the outer one over the top of the wading boot to stop any sand or bits of coral from getting stuck inside the boot. Give it a try and let us know what you think!
