The more proficient and comfortable you get at double hauling, the less false casts you will find yourself doing. Getting line out with the fewest possible false casts is the goal. Until you get to that point, you will find yourself doing extra false casts to generate line speed and add distance to your cast. When you are false casting, do you best to not execute them on top of your target. Fish have predators in the sky. False casting on top of them can create a sudden shadow that can spook the fish! The end goal is to eliminate unnecessary false casts, but until you get to the point, make sure you are false casting to the side of the target and not on top of it!
