Ed Ward skagit casting tip video
Give it a watch below. Photo: OPST screenshot.

We’ll admit it, we’re casting nerds. Whether single or double handed, we love discussing the intricacies of fly casting. Luckily, we know many of you do too!

With that in mind, the good folks from OPST and skagit casting legend, Ed Ward, are back with some more great skagit casting tips in video form. The most recent topic? The importance of separating planes between the sweep and the forward cast.

Allow Ed to explain below!

Great lesson from the skagit master. I watch, study, and practice everything Ed Ward and Deniki kindly puts out there. It’s all made me a much better caster. Many thanks!!
