Spey Casting: The Rewind Cast (Video)

The Rewind Cast Spey Cast from OPST
You’re going to like this one.. Photo: OPST Screenshot.

Ever heard of the Rewind Cast? Probably not.. That’s because it was developed by OPST frontman and Deneki alum, Trevor Covich.

Not only does it look super cool, for the experienced spey caster the Rewind Cast can help produce efficient casts under some difficult casting situations, not the least of which includes safely setting an anchor when dealing with a strong head-wind.

The folks at OPST have released a great video highlighting how to safely execute the Rewind. Its a great tool to have in the bag. Give it a watch below!

Sure thing Sylvain. We recommend practicing with a light fly without a hook attached. That way, it will better imitate the water tension in a real casting scenario, without the dangerous side effect of an errant cast. Have fun!
