The Naknek River is regarded by many anglers as one of the most prolific fisheries for trophy rainbow trout in the world. Feisty, native, resident rainbows exceeding thirty inches aren’t uncommon on the Nak, which is why we’re really lucky to call it our home water at our Rapids Camp Lodge operation.
In fact, just last week, we hit a new camp record, landing not one, not two, but ten (that’s right, 10) rainbow trout over thirty inches.. Believe it.
But that’s not the best part. Naknek rainbows aren’t just big.. Towards the back end of our season, they also regularly take swung flies – One of our favorite ways to fish!
