Simms BackSaver Wading Belt

Simms BackSaver Wading Belt review.
Good enough for Angus, good enough for you. Photo: Kyle Shea.

We fish hard at our lodges. At Alaska West, our fishing program consists of six consecutive ten hour days. That’s 60 hours straight of continuous casting, wading, hiking, and not mention fighting a whole bunch of heavy fish. It might not seem like much to the uninitiated, but that much activity can leave even the most experienced angler pretty fatigued by the end of the week!

Therefore, we love gear that helps our guests stay out there longer, and one piece of gear that many of our guests over the years have found extremely helpful is the Simms BackSaver Wading Belt. The concept is brilliantly simple – A wading belt that provides lower back support.

Back fatigue is by far the most common ailment we hear about by the end of the week’s fishing, and we’ve spoke to several of our guests who’ve said the BackSaver belt has made a big difference. So, if you’re planning a fishing trip, and are prone to a sore back, give it a try!

The BackSaver Belt retails for $54.99. Pick one up at your local fly shop today, or check it out on Simms’ website, here.

Fish harder, longer.. That’s what we’re all about.
