We’ve shared countless photos over the years of fish caught by our guests at our Alaskan lodges, from all five species of salmon, to rainbow trout, to Arctic grayling, to dolly varden and Arctic char.
However, we haven’t shared many photos of one of the rarest fish in our river, the Starry Flounder. Flounder you say? That’s right.
Each season at Alaska West, a few of our guests hook into Starry Flounder while fishing for salmon. They might not be the largest, prettiest, or best fighting fish out there, but they serve as a constant reminder of just how close to the salt we’re able to target our salmon.. And for that, we think they’re a pretty awesome little fish.
