A while back we mentioned that the good folks at the Bonefish and Tarpon Trust were asking for your help in support of two proposed National Parks encompassing prime bonefish habitat on Abaco and Grand Bahama Island. Many of you responded, and we’re happy to report that you made a difference!
Earlier this month the Bahamas Minister of the Environment announced the creation of these parks, along with over 7 million acres of new protected marine areas, and we couldn’t be more pleased.
We’ve seen first hand the benefit of Bahamian National Parks on our bonefish population on South Andros, and therefore fully support the protection of bonefish habitat throughout the Bahamas.
