While filleting salmon for our guests, the resident trout around our camp at Alaska West grow pretty fond of the hand that feeds them. Its not uncommon to witness dozens of trophy rainbow trout in the 20 to 30 inch range, patiently waiting for the next salmon scrap to fall off of the fillet table. We call them our pets, and we think they’re pretty cool.
Out of principle, we don’t fish for our pets however, it just wouldn’t be fair! With that said, we do enjoy sticking waterproof cameras underwater to get footage of massive feeding rainbows up close and personal. Do we have too much fun at work? Probably.. But we’re not complaining.
