We announced a few weeks ago that we’re part of a bigger family now and our new ‘big brother’ is Rapids Camp Lodge in Bristol Bay, Alaska.
Lots of folks have asked us about Rapids Camp, so we thought today we’d tell you a bit about what Rapids Camp is all about.
Rapids Camp Lodge
Rapids Camp Lodge (RCL) is located smack dab in the middle of Alaska’s Bristol Bay Area – the beating heart of fish country. Situated about 7 miles downstream from Naknek Lake on the Naknek River, RCL offers anglers access to all species of Pacific salmon, trophy rainbow trout and monster halibut. Right next door is Katmai National Park and Preserve, which contains such famous rivers as the Brooks, Moraine, Battle and Kulik.
RCL is a fly-out lodge – our guests utilize 5 different airplanes to access the many different locations within the 150 operating radius. This means that within a day, someone can go over to the other side of the Alaska peninsula, catch big halibut and be back at the lodge for massages or cocktails before appetizer time.
The main thing that separates this fishing program from others is the fact that our guests design their own trips. There isn’t any set destination list – we make recommendations based on your goals and desires and you make the decision where you want to go the next day.
This is your vacation – we just help you along the way.
