3 Reasons We Love this Picture

Dean River Tidal Run
Don’t forget to look around. Photo: Steven Brutger

3 Reasons We Love This Picture from the Dean

  1. The angler, Stewart Alsop, is standing in a run on the Dean River about 200 yards from its mouth.  There’s something special about fishing within spitting distance of salt water.
  2. This run didn’t exist until two years ago, when the Dean blew a second mouth through its delta in a flood event.  Rivers change – some runs come, some runs go – and in this case the change brought us a spectacular piece of water.
  3. The photographer, Steven Brutger, works for Trout Unlimited.  We’re really proud to support TU and the fine work they do on behalf of our fisheries.

The Dean is an incredible place, it was a privilege to be there. Thanks for all you do to make sure places like it remain as they are.
