We love it when rivers change – there’s nothing like exploring new water on a river that you already know well.
Last year the changes at BC West on the Dean were bigger than normal. A big flood rearranged the lower river below the Canyon, adding some runs and taking some runs.
The coolest change in our opinion was the one that resulted in two distinct mouths – at Upper Tidal the river now splits, with good flows going through the old ‘Tidal’ series of runs, as well as a new set of runs right through the middle of the delta. Both hold fish. Whitey and Scott are fishing the new mouth in the picture above.
New water – cool!
