Advanced Anchor Placement Tips

King Salmon - Larimer
He knows how to land 'em too.

Way back in April of last year, we posted a video of Tom Larimer giving some tips on placing your anchor when you’re spey casting.

Little did we know it would become our most popular video to date, with somewhere around 17,000 of you so far hitting ‘Play’ in an effort to improve your spey casting.  Cool!

After countless attempts to reach Tom through his new agent, we were finally able to track him down to record today’s follow-on segment.  If you’ve got the basics down, you should watch the video below to learn about placing your anchor at varying distances in front of you, and the impact that will have on your spey cast.

Cue the casting guru…

NOTE: If you’re viewing this in a newsletter or a reader, click here for graduate-level spey casting knowledge on our web site.

Hey, by the way, Tom hosts trips at all three of our lodges each year.  The next one is at Andros South in February of 2012, and a relatively unknown angler named Tim Rajeff is going to be on hand as well.  If you want to hang out with a couple of the best anglers in the world and catch giant bonefish in the process, you should drop us a line.
