Lynden Duncombe (or really just “Lynden”), is South Andros Island’s local “Shell Man” and keeper of dock at Little Creek, where we launch our boats at Andros South. Lynden has what’s known as a “Stall” that he licenses annually with the local government. He sells a wide variety of local shells, and sometimes jewelry and other gifts. He’s fully open to a bit of haggling, and ‘package pricing’ can make multiple-shell purchases quite the deal. Quite a few of our guests have taken shells home to significant others as a little gift from the Bahamas (hint, hint!).
Lynden also cleans the dock, keeping it clear of debris for our arrivals and departures. He lends a hand with loading and unloading guests and gear into our boats. He helps keep an eye out on the boats – especially when we get a hard rain. Lastly, and very importantly, we have used his services as a diver to find items dropped off the dock!
[…] My bag… not so much. It should get here later this morning so I can give my girl the shells I bought from the Shell Man. […]
