Week 7 saw several old Dean River hands make their annual appearance on the river, and although the lower river fishing remained in a holding pattern for the next good push of the larger August fish, the upper river gave up some fish in bits and pieces with the occasional bonus day!
Some guests had a tougher time than others, particularly in the more challenging upper river, but eventually perseverance tended to pay off.
Mid-week a rare thunderstorm pounded the headwaters and put the river up and out for most of Tuesday. By late afternoon, however, fishable conditions returned and some guests hit the water, rewarded with a few salmon, including two late Springs.
The water was again back to normal by Wednesday and the the upper river group were rewarded with a 9/16 fish day Wednesday, 6/8 Thursday and a 10/12 day Friday. The lower river still consistently produced 3-6 fish hooked outings for the balance of the week with conditions remaining ‘Dean green’ and productive.
