Dana Sturn’s Speypages.com group arrived to sunny skies but the weeks previous cooler temperatures being replaced by warmer weather. This slowly improved the water conditions which were rapidly dropping and clearing the previous few days, making the fish hold in deeper and faster water. As the heat wave continued, the water began to rise and color up to the perfect ‘Dean Blue’ by week’s end.
Along with the rising water, a good push of steelhead joined the Springs already in full migration mode up river. After a few fish fish here and there in the lower water, the week’s fishing picked up with more and more steelhead being hooked as well as several Springs a day by Dana, Jim Babb, Pat Wood, and Mike and Shirley Walsh.
The final day on the water saw the most action as better than 10 steelhead were hooked as well as several nice Springs. Water conditions couldn’t be better with Mike Walsh capping off the trip with a nice 30lb Spring.
