Johnny Spillane, as you know, won 3 silver medals at the Vancouver Olympics earlier this year in nordic combined, an event combining ski jumping and cross-country skiing. As if being a 3-time medalist isn’t enough, Johnny’s first medal was the U.S.A.’s first ever in nordic combined. The icing on the cake? Johnny’s a fly fishing guide in Steamboat Springs.
The Deneki team has some nordic skiing in its background, so we couldn’t have been more proud of the performance by Johnny and the rest of the nordic combined team in Vancouver. We were really excited when Johnny agreed to join us for a congratulatory week of bonefishing at Andros South this month.
Johnny’s going to be at the lodge right smack in the middle of Deneki FIBFest, so don’t be surprised when you get to read all about his bonefishing exploits online.
Congratulations, Johnny! We’re looking forward to some good times on the flats.
