We’ve told you before that we like Buffs, because they keep the sun off, they keep the bugs off, and they’re cozy when it’s cold out.
One last nice thing about the Merino Wool Buff is that it comes in very mellow solid colors. If you’re OK with the idea of covering your head and neck but would prefer to not be adorned with tarpon scales or a map of Montana, you’ll appreciate that these look pretty darned normal.
They’re available now – check your local fly shop.

This is a great site you have here. I have a new site myself that's going to be a useful source for vacationers. I was wondering if you would like to exchange links and spread some traffic around. Let me know if this is possible.

Good post. Buffs are awesome for a variety of reasons, one being angling. But I use mine when hunting, mountain biking, etc. I once wore it over my face in bed (you know, to keep things fun and interesting without going down the sick and wrong path) but my wife freaked out and I've never made the attempt again. Could have been the Darth Vader voice combined with a covered face and the handcuffs.
I digress. The Buff is a savior for me because I got a little frostbite on my nose one time and freezing temperatures and wind now turn my nose whiter than it usually is on this pasty white dude.
Bottom line, own a Buff and you will use it.

The fly fishing clothing related companies need to get up to speed with near 100 % merino fabric with a bit of stretch.I recently tried some socks and some Zip T and otherwise tops.I have had horrible foot odor..especially in waders…and merino has really tamed that to nothing.Has done the same thing with the tops.I have used this stuff for hunting…have not had a deer spook, even downwind.Had a youg buck inspect the ground blind I was in…could have reached out the unzipped opening and touch him…did not smell me…just as important, after a full day. I can’t smell me…my wife can’t smell me. It is very comfortable as well.
