One of the options during a trip at Chile West is to do some horsepacking. Besides the fun of actually riding horses, horespacking allows us to get our guests into some incredibly remote, beautiful areas.
Guides and guests load up on horses to access a pristene river valley. Fishing takes place on foot. The local gauchos who we ride with make an asado (grilled meat over an open fire) for the mid-day meal. Wine is served from a bota bag, and no one goes hungry, to say the least.
Toasts to a ‘perfect day’ are the norm – why not, after some truly remote fishing and an experience as authentic as you’ll get in Chile?

Gee, I thought this was an article about having cheval for dinner.
Horse: it’s the other red meat.
